When I read Joe's original note it made me chuckle. I've been on this
list a long time and remember writing about LLBs when I lived in NY. I've
driven from NY to FL at least 4 times via I95 and I81, plus NY to IL via
I80 and I90 and have seen how all the states in between work. For the
most part it is fairly consistent.
Depending on the day, even in NJ where I spent a lot of time working this
year, I noticed that the GSP and turnike both have more signs about "keep
right except to pass" than any place I've ever seen, but those signs
apparently apply only to the other people.
To George's point, if you ever come across one of these people and pull up
along side them and try to get into a staring contest, you'll get one of
two reactions. One, they just pretend you don't exist or two, they'll
take great offense that you are disturbing their right to drive in the
left lane and will give you a Bronx cheer.
One last point Joe. Remember that MANY people that live in FL originally
came from either the midwest or the northeast FWIW.
