I use Equus scanners and find them reliable and easy to use. Have the #3145
for EEC-IV systems (1982-1995 Fords) and also a #3100 for ODB-II systems
(1996 & newer). http://www.iequus.com

Subject: [Shotimes] OBD II scanner tool advice
Thanks to everyone for their advice on the rear brake job. Everything went
smoothly using the AutoZone loaner tools.
I'm looking to get a OBD II code scanner for my other (newer) vehicles - the
kind that use a laptop and serial port connector cable. The V8 crowd uses
OBD II, I think.
I've looked on Ebay and found several companies, but none seem to stand out
in service or product.
Any comments/advice on people's experiences with them will be greatly
appreciated. A tool that will also let me read the SHO's codes would be a
real bonus.
Thanks!
