Bill,

I had a K&N cone filter with a hole in it like that some
time ago. For a couple of years, I fixed it with a glob of
good old gasket sealer.

How do I know I fixed it?

Because I found the hole when I noticed the silicone content
in my oil analysis was going up and staying up, and when I
fixed the hole, it went right back down.
