Bill,
You put it in the dishwasher? What is the filter media on
that new Pro-M filter? If it is gauze like the K&N, the I
would NOT use the dishwasher. First the soaps for dishes
are way too harsh for that type of filter element, second
the water pressures inside a dishwasher are meant to BLAST
food from dishes. Chances are you have damaged the filter
and it is letting dirt by.
IF K&N SAYS to clean it that way, then you might be OK, but
I would still use the recommended cleaner or the cleaner
from K&N and a gentle flow of water from the kitchen sink.
NOTE: You should NEVER use high pressure air or water on a
K&N filter. Shouldn't use high pressure air on a paper
filter either.
