I had a similar problem - for me it was simply a 5A fuse that was blown.
Replacing it fixed the problem.

Hey everybody. A while ago I tried to upgrade my EATC to one of the ones
from
a Vic.. I got fed up with the rigged mod, and tried to plug it in
directly...
my car beeped and carried on and ever since then, the original
equipment, and
my new 95 unit go back to OFF when I start the car. I saw a posting on
the
forum about this reguarding the possiblity of a fuse, but there were no
replys. Please let me know if anyone has some input other than looking
on the
forum or on shotimes, unless there is an un obvious area that covers
this
problem.
