Frank,

Get an antifreeze tester for about $5 from any parts 
store.  That will tell you the mix you have and the 
corresponding freeze point.  I forget what freeze point 
you get at 50/50 mix.

I've run 75/25 glycol/water with no ill effects in a 86 
Taurus, but straight glycol does not provide sufficient 
heat transfer.
