Some stores sell only the front half of the water pump. I think you can
replace this without removing the timing belt. (I'm not saying whether it
is reasonable to replace just the front half or not.) OTOH you cannot do
the crank seal without removing the timing belt. Once the old belt is off,
the only extra effort to replace the belt is to tear open the bag containing
the new one.
