LOL!!

Go get the stethoscope.  It will save you LOTS of time and anguish, and it's easy
and relatively safe to use.  If you find the bad bearing immediately, or almost
immediately, you will be very happy.  And it's definitely safer than a screwdriver
if you are a little timid around the moving pulleys.

Been there, Done that....both of 'em (saved time and been timid)  !!
