No, those are the wrong size pads for the front. Those are the smaller
'94 - '95 size pads. You want the 598 pads

Ok I double checked my receipt and I didn't give you the whole part
number--SEE WHY I SAY NO FLAMES FOR BEING DUMB!! o;)))

Anyway the pads are DG601's for the front and DG610's for the rear--so
it looks like:

A) I got the right sized pads for the front--correct?? 601's?? And
this is by telling them a '96 so could it be an area problem with AZ
look-up Carl?? I dunno.
B) Hopefully I did get the right size for the back.
C) Yes, I got their "house brand" as I was shopping with my budget and
checkbook rather than for performance and dusting as I would have
preferred to shop.

So, how did I end up really--from you that know out there--am I ok or
should I make them give me the right sized pads?? (and the labor to
install them!!)

I cracked up at the guy selling the pads though--trying to convince me
how good they are with their "lifetime warranty" and I told him flat out
bulls**t--you just want me to come back and replace these with YOUR
brand--you pro-rate them, you don't pay the labor to have them
reinstalled so your "lifetime warranty" can go where the sun don't
shine. He didn't like that--but he had given me such attitude about why
I wanted "96 brake pads for a 94 car???".

You guys call me dumb and laugh but WITH me not AT me--most of the time
anyway. I hate going into parts stores as a female and knowing what I
want or need and them treating me like the idiot you'all think I am LOL.
Anyway this is ONE clerk I told off and put in his place. Lifetime
Warranty my *s*

Again, please no flames for stupidity and no pictures either LMAO o;)))

Hmmm... Doing a lookup on www.autozone.com, that # doesn't even come up.
Is that from the receipt or from the box? Is there any other # on the
receipt? Any # with 598 or 601 in it?

Ok now you guys got me worried. I just got brake pads and rotors for my
car from Autozone--the rotors were for the rear, but I got pads for the
front and back. I got regular 94 Taurus SHO pads for the rear, but
asked for the '96 SHO brake pads for the front figuring that is why they
call it "the '96 brake upgrade", right? I got Autozone Part # 3529512
for the pads for the front. I was babysitting my grandson while my son
installed the pads and I love him, but I'm not sure he would have
checked closely to make sure the pads were EXACTLY the same size--so how
can I reference those numbers to make sure I have the right pads? This
has been a month ago now and everything works well--the car stops fine,
but I just thought '96 was the size of brake we "upgraded" to??

No flames please, I already know how dumb I am.

5984 is for the '96 upgrade. Use '99 for the year and Autozone will pull
it right up, at least they did for me. We are talking fronts, right?
Rears for '93-'99 are 6104

I have this upgrade on my 92. I want to upgrade the stock Ford pads to
PFCM pads. I know the size number is stated as 598. I went to AZ
yesterday to get a set and the had the PFCM pads. The part number is
6014. The counter guy said this is not a SHO unique part, and this is
where I got confused. The SHO just got the standard Taurus front discs?

Separate question. AZ carries a PFC-Z pad by mail order only. Is this
pad good for street use or really only suited for track use?
