There were a few stock block Buick V6's that ran in Indy for a while. I
watched them cast the blocks at the Saginaw Gray Iron Plant!

I worked for a Busch Series team in the early/mid 90's. NASCAR used V6
motors in the Busch Series during that time. They were basically
throw-away motors. We could use the block for multiple races, but the crank
and rods were always trashed after each race. Also threw away the pushrods
and rockers after each race too. All GM teams ran the Buick odd fire
crankshaft IIRC.

I also worked part time with Woodstock Motorsports around the same time.
They ran the four Ninja Turtle SHOs in the Firestone Firehawk Series, with
full factory backing from Ford's electronics division. A few photos of the
Ninja cars are in the most recent issue of the SHOClub magazine.

Tell you what dude, I have a buddy that used to be an engine pit mechanic
for one of the ARCA teams a few years back. I'll ask him next week if he
knows of any series that used V6s.

And it is true that SHOs were professionally raced back in the day.
