A marginal fuel pump won't throw any codes?  Paul, were there any codes
stored?

I have seen before that a bad signal from the ECT sensor will cause the
PCM to shutdown the engine.

If the coolant temp gauge was on the high side, I'll just ask how old your
coolant is.  In extreme conditions like that, tired coolant won't do the
job.
