I don't know if I'd include the 26mm RSB in the list of "safety upgrades". The general population (and probably most people on this list) are safer drivers with some front-end plow, which is why the RSB got smaller over the years, and especially on the ATX.

My list of upgrades on an ATX would be:

1) good tires (you're not going to start well, stop well or turn well without them)
2) unibody reinforcements (sometimes referred to as subframe connectors)
3) LPM (for the improved shifting alone...any performance gain is gravy)
4) '96 brakes (would've placed it higher on the list but it's possible to get pretty good stopping power with the right parts in the stock size)
5) struts (especially if the current ones are worn out)

Jeremy--I have to agree with Ian here--IMHO also--making a car stay on
the road better and stop better is more important to spend money on,
than making a car faster. I have nothing against faster, but safety
issues should be implemented first.

My list in order of importance is:

1--'96 brake upgrade. Of course on a 93 these also means new
knuckles--but you can get newer knuckles out a a recycling yard.
2. Upgraded struts (I chose Tokico's) and stayed with stock springs as
my ground effects drag enough as it is.
3. Upgrade to a 26 mm rear sway bar.

To me these are 3 "upgrades" that the Gen II SHO should have had right
off the assembly line! Any way my 2 cents worth.
