Hi
I lost my brake lights today. Fuses are fine (#1 and
#4, right? I think one is 10a one is 25a). Anyway,
went to get a new BOO switch, got under the dash and
found that the connector and the switch seemed to have
melted somewhat. The hot (pink with green stripe) had
fallen out of the connector. Once I held it in place,
the brake lights worked (all of them). The only
problem is that the wiring is getting really hot. I
assume that something is shorting somewhere. Is it
possible the the bad switch is shorting internally
which is causing all of this heat? I figured that if
the switch was shorting internally, the brake lights
would either be on all the time or not work at all.
Oh-maybe my connector is mangled and I can't tell, but
how do I remove it as well as the switch? I think I
see a cotter pin in there but I can't tell ..
I'll try to check email tonight but if anyone wants to
chat my cell is 908 705 4862-thanks
Ian
