[Shotimes] Convention - can't go!

I was in Madison, Wisc., last week on business and as I got near our former
hoast hotel of last year, I started seeing a bunch of Model A Fords. Sure
enough the Model A Restorer's Club was having their annual meet there at the
same Marriot.

Here they were, a bunch of car crazy guys and gals having fun with their
rides, although a lot more were trailered in than our bunch, and all I could
think of is why I can't go to this year's convention.

A lot more parts vendors, but strange as it seems, most of the parts were
less expensive than the same part for our SHOs. How about $75 for a
re-manufactured like new head? $250 for a like new carb and manifold? OEM
60 year old plugs were a bit pricy @ $50/each (in original box).

And, here I am stuck with a job were I have to work 80 hours/week, just to
keep head above water. To make matters worse, the AWA is leaving for 3
weeks to visit the grand kids in Fairbanks, leaving me to take care of her
86 year old father (required time is only every other day) and my 87 year
old father, who requires a lot of time. He is broke, thanks to my sister,
who had him move in with her, took his money, and then sent him to me.
Heath issues preclude him from being left along for anything more than a few
hours and he or I can't afford more than a few hours of paid help.

At least the '95MTX than I got from Davis Bonds a few months ago has
required little time. It was over heating, but a new radiator
(radiators.com) and removal of the Colagan "Bra" solved the problem with
very little time and not many dollars.

Guess that I'll have see you all next year.
