A few weeks ago I reported ABS problems in my 91:  soft pedal, intermittent
ABS light, tendency for ABS to kick in at the last second or two when
stopping on dy pavement.  This after installing a new ABS sensor on right
front.

A week ago I discovered the hub was cracked.  Took the front spindle out
(thanks to George Fourchy it went fast) and noticed that the ABS ring was
damaged.  The new ABS sensor's tip was also damaged.  I though perhaps a
pebble or such had been lodged between the sensor and ring.  The "teeth" on
the sensor ring were all ground down.  No wonder it was getting a poor
signal!

When I put it all back together with a new hub, everything was fine.  No ABS
light, ABS comes on only when it should, and even the pedal is firm again.
Go figure.
