Two things have helped me make ABS sensors easy to remove:

--- A little anti-sieze on the retaining screw

--- Use hand router (e.g. Dremel) to remove rust and very slightly enlarge
the opening that the sensor goes through

That's when I found out how horrible the road
salt from the NE was in terms of freezing the sensor in knuckle.  Had to
destroy both sensors to get them out.
