[Shotimes] AC questions, part 2

To add my 2 cents here, since I've done some A/C work before.... If you
are replacing the compressor, and don't want to be dumping your money down
the toilet later, make sure you use a QUALITY replacement. www.ACKits.com
and www.ACSource.com sell quality parts. The ones you get at most parts
stores that are rebuilt under the "Four Seasons" and various other names are
crap. I was told this by veteran A/C mechanics, who said that if you get a
year out of a "Four Seizens" you are lucky. They replace maybe one or two
parts, repaint the things, and slap em back together. When the Ford
FX-15/FS-10 compressors fail, they cause Black Death, read this for more
details: http://www.ackits.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=black%20death. Since
they are especially failure prone, getting a new Ford or other quality
replacement is in your best interest.
