[Shotimes] SHOs are totally UNIQUE!!!!!!!

I agree in that the SHO has soul, but totally Unique is a strong
statement. You guys that say the SHO must be a stick are missing a lot the of
whole identity that endears me (us?) to the Gen I & II. Here's some reasons
why I still own and use my 93 atx which I purchased new.

1) We're an eclectic and diverse group, and that's a lot of the soul. The
resale value proves the eclectic part and the convention attendance and SHO
Mailing lists show the deversity. The club and internet "support groups"
give us a social bonding.

2) Resale value. You can only sell a good SHO at a loss, so why not keep it?

3) I know about the mtx SHO. I gave my 19 year old the 89 to. He enjoys the
car as a whole.

4) Most of you guys that feel strongly about the SHO have personalized it.
Does that make the SHO more desireable and give it soul to you? Obviously.
Mine is personalized too.

5) Being a old fart, I no longer need a maunal trans to enjoy the SHO. Other
old farts of the mailing lists still enjoy the mtx. If I want the do my own
shifting, I'll dust off the Z28 LT1 M6 convertible for a cruise, but in
general I consider the SHO more comfortable.

6) Other times we'll take the AWA's car, 02 TL-S. It don't have the sole of
the SHO, even though it does every thing better the stock SHO atx or mtx.
Yea, it's a 5 speed - atx. If it was my car, the SHO would be gone, and it
would be modded - supercharger, suspension, etc.

drives a LeBaron Convert with a slushbox wants a SHO but it HAS to be stick
her opinion is why bother with the automatic when I can have a stick. Gotta
respect the woman for that. Now considering my uncles 88 Vette has a
horspower and weight advantage to my SHO. But for some strange reason I beat
the vette 3 times so far. The only advantage I see the SHO having is the
Stick over his slushbox. By the way when I ruptured the rear brake line last
weekend the stick was a joy to get home downshift that baby to pretty much a
complete stop.
