[Shotimes] EGR revisited

The nostrils were clogged on my 95. I removed the rear facing allen screw,
squirted some carb cleaner into the passage, then shot compressed air in (I
wrapped air nozzle with duct tape so that it kinda sealed against the
manifold). I did this procedure several times until I could see the carb
cleaner come out of the nostrils. Try some penetrating oil on the allen
screw to loosen it up. I hope that helps!

Subject: [Shotimes] EGR revisited

Thanks for all the info and suggestions yesterday. I pulled the throttle
body
off the intake last night and low and behold, the 2 "nostrils were clogged
shut. So I start cleaning them out with a coat hanger just as the article
mention on the Showtimes.
Should I be able to run a coat hanger all the way through to the EGR valve?
There is an alan screw on the back of the intake facing the firewall beside
the EGR valve and I assume that is the plug mentioned in the article. That
sucker wont budge. Can I just remove the EGR valve and clean out the
passages that
way? My worry is, if I should be able to run a coat hanger all the way
through those 2 nostrils then I'm doomed because the carbon is paked pretty
tight in
there, I can get the coat hanger in about 1/2 inch on each one and thats
about it.
Any thoughts?

Thanks
again
Rick
