Technically you are correct. It does do a checksum of various 'things' in
your PC and if it doesn't match what you activated with Microsoft, it will
ask you to activate again. If you don't the OS will stop working. If you are
a habitual 'activator', MS will want you to explain why/how you keep
changing your configuration.

What are you talking about? Everytime I start Windows it diesn't send
anything to Microsoft, nor do they ask me anything.
