I've got a good trailer story. Went with a buddy to pick up his car
trailer that he had loaned to someone. This is just an open, 2 axle
trailer. We're driving back into Ohio from Michigan. All of a sudden
we see the trailer go by us, into the median between the divided
highway, over the oncoming lanes of traffic, and into a field next
to the highway. It turns out he never hooked up the safety chains.
It was fortunate that there wasn't much traffic at that time. The
guy that was behind us pulled over and told us that it just looked
like slow-motion. The trailer just veered to the left and shot across
the highway. We never even heard or felt it come unhooked. If you
can say nothing else about that trailer, it was well balanced. The
tongue never dug into the ground.
