If you want the highest quality sound, you should create a port for the
sub.  This is not easy and it is very time consuming.  Most 17 year olds
I know don't give a crap about sound quality, they just want to show
their friends that they have a sub.

Another option is to strongly secure the sub box directly behind the
rear seat, this will help keep the sound directed into the cabin and
should help prevent "getto rattle" (the sound that an improperly
installed sub enclosure makes when it rattles the trunk)
