My head unit came satellite ready from Crutchfield and recently they sent me
a deal that if I bought the 30 dollar antenna, they would give me the tuner.
So I did and now that I have it, I need to place the antenna. I would
rather put the antenna on the trunk for several reasons, but it is said that
would interfere with the signal and that it should be on the roof. Any
experience with that? Next question, the antenna attaches magnetically but
the little "tail" that is provided to weather proof the wire until it goes
under the weather stripping or what not uses an adhesive. Kinda defeats the
purpose of having a readily removable antenna if the damned wire is glued to
the roof. Sorry, I'm rambling. Anyway, I thought that it would be easier
and a cleaner look to simply mount the antenna closer to the glass and snip
the "tail" down just enough to cover the part of the antenna that has to be
exposed. Or, does that whole 5 1/2 inches of tail need to be exposed? If
anyone has any info about this or ideas or suggestions, I would greatly
appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
