[Shotimes] Deceleration questions

Silly question for all of you.
My wife's red '93 had been slightly modified as you can see from my sig. My
white '93 is supposed to have been left stock according to the PO but I'm
not really sure he is correct. When I was first looking at it I had the PO
take it to FPS and have Doug look it over. After Doug's test drive he got
out and took me aside and said "It's FAST!" I asked if it was as fast as
Debbie's and his answer was "I don't know, it might be!"
One of the things that I have never liked about the motor in the red one is
that it takes too long for the RPMs to drop between shifts. I thought that
the Fidanza would help cure that and it did to a degree. I asked Doug if he
could burn me a custom chip that would keep the IAB closed during decel. He
told me that the response time of the IAB wasn't quick enough to keep it
closed and snap it back open before the engine would die coming down to
idle.
Okay, Here is the punch line... On my '93 whiteout the idle snaps down just
like I expected the red one to do after all the mods. Not as fast as the
Yoshimura Honda 750 I used to own (I know there is a lot more rotating mass
in a SHO motor) but a lot faster than the red one does. It doesn't die when
it comes down to idle so I know that the IAB is working (or at least I
assume it is, I haven't disconnected it to really see) Now, I'm not sure if
there is a problem with the red one that is causing it to be lazy on decel
or if there is something about the white one that makes it so much faster on
decel.
Anyone have any clues for me?
Jim
