[Shotimes] Ethnic Diversity

To begin with, I don't see what Hockey has to do with NASCAR or SHOs, but I
just wanted to make a comment on the statement that the countries named are
"ethnically Caucasian." The countries listed (USA, Canada, Sweden, Poland,
Russia, Czech) and Northern Asia are all very different. There are "black"
people in Poland just like USA. Also, Russians and Czechs are, in fact,
mostly Caucasian, but not enough to say that they are Caucasian based
countries. I'm saying this because I am personally Ludar Roma (aka
"Gypsy"), and my family came here from Russia. My people are not
considered Caucasian any more than a Hispanic, Latin, or black person. In
fact, if my mother were not Caucasian, I would be considered a
minority. Also, there is not a country in Asia that is even remotely
Caucasian based. Why did race even come up here? We're supposed to be
celebrating the Power of the Great SHO! Focus, people!

 >Really? Black players in Hockey? I haven't seen a single
 >one.

Grant Fuhr played in the NHL from 1981-2000. He was with the Edmonton
Oilers during the Gretzky dynasty. However, he was a goalie so not many
people knew he was black (because of the goalie mask).

Current black NHL (not minor league) players are:

Fred Brathwaite (goalie) - Columbus Blue Jackets
Kevin Weekes (goalie) - Carolina Hurricanes
Anson Carter (right wing) - Los Angeles Kings
Jarome Iginla (right wing) - Calgary Flames
Mike Grier (right wing) - Buffalo Sabres
Georges Laraque (right wing) - Edmonton Oilers
Donald Brashear (left wing) - Philadelphia Flyers
Peter Worrell (left wing) - Colorado Avalanche

These 8 players comprise 1.2% of the entire NHL, but that's still 100%
more than NASCAR.

Also, if YOU didn't notice, countries near the equator do not get snow
and ice. It makes it kinda hard to learn how to play ice hockey in the
plains of the Serengeti or in the middle of the rainforest.

 >Hockey does indeed lack ethnic diversity as a sport.

You haven't got a clue.
