You guys don't get out much, do you? Go to any SCCA or NASA race. Stop all
the complaining about how bad NASCAR is and show your support for the kind
of racing you like. Go to some SCCA Regional, Divisional or National races.
Go out and watch the NASA events. The vast majority of these cars are just
what everyone is crying to see. Write to SpeedChannel, and let them know
what you want to watch (although, it will be hard for them to get rid of
wind tunnel, all those infomercials and NASCAR this and that).
BTW, if you use cars that represent 51% of production, all you will see
racing are the "value leaders" of the line. Mostly mid-level offerings
(sorry, but if Ford ever did another SHO, it would not be eligible for that
kind of sanctioning) would be racing. The best way would be to set a lower
limit on production numbers for all trim levels of a model. Any trim may be
used as long as the entire model satisfies homologation.
Oh well, time for work.......
