Last couple of times I've just used a panel from an 18 pack holder of Budweiser (that's what my ex-roommate drinks, NOT ME), cut to size--oh, about 6"X12", then give it a filter sized curve and stick it up under the filter mounting boss. It stays pretty well. Then unscrew the filter and let the oil run down the cardboard ramp.

Oh, and don't be so defiant. (sorry--couldn't resist;-)

I live in Raleigh, NC -- WAY on the east coast!!

The oil filter isn't THAT bad ;) I have seen some older (mid 80s) Mercedes
Benz that have them mounted upside down. Guaranteed to fill your engine bay
with oil every time you change it. Then again, its a Mercedes, so what owner
changes his / her own oil? :)

I have defiantly been doing my reading on the clutch and what to look for.
The person that I purchased this car from has ALL the documentation on it.
It looks like right a 30k the rear main oil seal blew out on them and coated
the flywheel, clutch, etc with oil and had everything replaced under
warranty. I don't plan on modding this vehicle power wise anyway, it
defiantly had the potential to get me in enough trouble :) I am going to
look hard at the brakes and possibly do the 96+ front brake upgrade after I
get her up and running tough.....

Thank you, and everyone else for the warm welcome!

Carl
