Adam,

Just a wild hunch, have you checked the IAB valve?  This can 
go bad causing a wild noise in the intake (I didn't listen 
to the sound clip, my computer locks up on things like that 
a lot).  Try unplugging the IAB valve when the noise is 
present and see what happens.

If this has been checked out or is not a possibility at all, 
then, sorry to waste your time, but sometimes silly things 
are the answer.
