Make sure it is in neutral.  Make sure you have a good tow bar attached to the
subframe.  We used to make cotton trailers out of old car chassis back in the day. 
They tow fine, as long as the steering mechanism wasn't loose, in which case it
would weave all over the road.  A modern car in good condition won't do that.

The tow bar is the most important thing, and you need to make sure it is fastened
SECURELY to the subframe, since that is the only metal in the front end strong
enough to put that sort of tension on.  In the near past old days, cars had steel
bumpers that you could strap a bar to, but now the subframe is all there is.

It'll follow you just fine as long as there is no slop left or right in the towing
connection.
