I still wouldn't tow it very far in neutral. You are reverse-driving the
tranny, and even though it should splash up enough gear oil, you never know
what could happen.

They tow fine, as long as the steering mechanism wasn't loose, in which case
it
would weave all over the road. A modern car in good condition won't do
that.
The tow bar is the most important thing, and you need to make sure it is
fastened
SECURELY to the subframe, since that is the only metal in the front end
strong
enough to put that sort of tension on. In the near past old days, cars had
steel
bumpers that you could strap a bar to, but now the subframe is all there is.
It'll follow you just fine as long as there is no slop left or right in the
towing
connection.
