I believe they attach tow plates to the subframe, then
removable tow bars to the plates. It is common to tow
4 wheels down behind a motorhome for thousands of
miles, which is this application.

Just put the car in neutral, it should be fine. Some
parts
of the tranny will be in motion, but the unit is
splash
lubricated anyway, not through any pump.
Just for safety sake though, I would use a two-wheel
dolly
or regular trailer if you are going any distance.
Where can you hook up a flat tow hitch? I haven't
seen one
of these in a while, I would assume it would have to
hook to
the subframe. I would think the bumper mounts would
not be
up to that kind of pressure. Just curious.
