[Shotimes] true dual exhaust

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Seems unrealistic. I spent 8 years in a
speedshop a while back and most of the claims seemed inflated. Many of the
big claims didn't even use peak HP. They'd use wherever they felt they got
the most difference. That was usually at very low or very high rpm. Like I
heard the Borla 32 HP claim was not at peak HP but way above, like 7000 rpm.
The stock exhaust had started to choke things off and the HP curve fell off
rapidly there, and the Borla made a big difference. IE: It only fell off 40
Hp from peak HP instead of 72! But you are still 1000 rpm past peak power.
Who cares on the street unless you wind the *** out of it. Shift already!
Most of the time, if you read the whole story, it would make some sense, but
by the time the story got passed around and shortened to a few words, the HP
claim is way out of its original context. Ted's original claim may have been
the same: 35 HP, but at what rpm? I'd suspect that the dual setup, like the
Borla, would not fall-off as rapidly as stock once past the power peak. It
could broaden the power curve to include higher rpms, not necessarily
increase it at any given rpm. There are really no guidelines for stupid
marketing claims (as long as its legal), and some very big companies have
fallen into that same trap. Next time you hear "It adds 35 HP", ask: Where??

No nothing else. BAM!

itself doesn't make it true. Dynos can be tricky, or so I've heard.

Yet, they too may have measured this on an improperly operated dyno.
