I can't be 100% sure, since I myself have not seen the business (geared) end of an
SHO speed sensor. However, I will be seeing one tomorrow, since I am going to swap
mine out, along with installing new speedo cables. I _THINK_ that the same speedo
gears that we used to use in RWD cars are used here. The Helms does not agree with
me, but I am ALMOST sure that there are different driven gears we can pick from.
The reason I say this is that back when Lowrider was brand new, it had a sticking
speedometer needle in the instrument cluster, and I took it to the dealer to be
swapped. They mis-understood me and thought it was reading slow, and swapped the
gear. It read WAY too fast after that, and I took it back, and took the service
manager for a ride, tapping the dash to show him how the needle was binding at
speed.
The book shows a totally different looking gear than what we had in '60s Mustangs
and the other cars, but at least the dealer was able to put a different one in the
car for that day or two long ago.
