 The VSS puts out a AC sine wave which is proportional to vehicle speed. I
don't have the complete specs but to test it you put the car in gear with a
wheel off the ground and you should get .5 VAC or more. The voltage
increases with vehicle speed. Your tire diameter would affect the output so
it's not a set number and all aftermarket electronic speedometers I have
seen have a adjustment or tuning knob to calibrate it to your situation.
This is VERY common in the street/hot Rod world.
