[Shotimes] Rod bearing question

I'm a little puzzled as to the recommendation of some to replace the carrier
gasket.  Its not a wear item, and if its not leaking, leave it alone.  The
seal will come out easily whether the carrier is on or off the engine.
Don't ask for trouble.
