[Shotimes] Cooling Fan Problem - How to troubleshoot?

Hey,

Had an issue yesterday where I got stuck in stop and
go traffic.  The engine temp kept rising, so I pulled
over and let it cool down a bit.  I then got back on
the highway and it cooled back down.  Once back off
the highway it started rising again and I noticed my
cooling fan was not kicking on.  I have checked all
obvious wiring and connections, any suggestions on how
to test the fan before dropping $80 for a new motor?
