Don't know about yellow springs.  Of course a can of spray paint can
make any spring yellow.

No you are right on, a stiffer spring without a better dampening strut
will have the same net effect as worn out struts.  Boingy Boingy
Boingy!  We had this discussion before and I made people's heads hurt
by saying stuff like "second order differential equation"...  So this
