[Shotimes] Gas

We had this discussion on the V8 list but here's a Cliff's notes version:
The higher the BTU output, the better MPG you will get. Speaking of pure
gasoline (no gasohol or gas with MTBE added), a higher octane has a lower
BTU output. So, lower octane fuel puts out more 'power' than higher octane
fuel. I am talking about the fuel itself. Gasohol will have a lower BTU
output than straight gas of the same octane.
So, to recap, for the most power out of your motor, for the most MPG out of
your motor, run the lowest octane gasoline that doesn't knock.

I have always run 87 in all of my SHO's, no ill effects....some will argue
about ping, or spark waste, or whatever else...but at $2.39/gal here....I
couldn't afford to drive, $2.19 is kicking my ass pretty good.....
oh, and my SHO's have all gotten slightly better mpg on 87 than on
93.....but not ususally on the 1st tank.
I say run 3 tanks of 87 and evaluate the performance, mpg, and throttle
response...if you feel you are losing something, go back to premium.
