[Shotimes] Just out of curiosity... (LPM)

How exactly would one go about programming an LPM? I'm not really looking to
get into the business or anything, but how would you do it? is there like a
program out there that'll do it or do you have to do the low-level
programming yourself with a hex editor or whatever... is there hardware out
there for reading those things? I'm just curious, that's all... I've been
wondering about it for a while. I know it's hard (otherwise more people than
Ted would be doing it) and there's a lot of skill involved but i'm just
wondering what the setup's like.
