Wow, neat trick.  I bet if you sold an alternator that burst into
flames for a honda civic, you would get a fair amount of buyers!

in reality, that's really interesting what happened.  Good to hear you
managed to take care of it with (hopefully) little damage to
surrounding items.

..only engine fire i had was when I spilled 1/3 quart of dino oil on
the front ehaust sheild...
