Birmingham and Barber Motorsports Park were going to be our 2005
convention site, till the racetrack became too much of a hastle to deal
with. First they had no idea how to handle single event insurance, then
they didn't know what to charge for things and they were very indifferent.

I finally just looked elsewhere (Indy). The Birmingham Convention and
Visitors Bureau got involved a little after the fact and got most
details worked out, but I was already moving on. I have kept that
location in mind, but with what you say, I don't think we will be going
there.

The Brickyard at Indy does the same thing. You hit the wall during a
drive like we did in 2000 and you pay for it. They even impound your
car till you do! That is why I was so draconian in rules enforcement in
2000.
