 lol - My fianci' is from Jersey (Tabernacle). When she came to PA, she had no idea how to pump her own gas! That law is as bad as PA's yearly safety/emissions tests. 

As far as my motorcycle goes, when we took a trip to Jersey last August on the bike, I had the same experience Tom has had. They handed me the pump and 'let' me pump my own fuel. It probably helped when I told him "you scratch it, you pay for it".

I like the people I've met from Jersey, but the state leaves a bit to be desired!! Between the stupid pump law, and the god-awful traffic (Philly traffic mainly) it's a frustrating state to drive in for sure!!

I agree with that-the law is inconvenient for many of us. However, if they changed the law to allow self serve, I wonder how many people would know what to do and how to not burn down the gas station..
