Of course they will.

Technically, they didn't die "in" it....Three people died after all five
were thrown OUT of the car.

You think they are really going to restore that car after a family died in
it?

I am rather involved with the Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg club, (by
defasult since dad has several cords in various states of
restoration). One thing a lot of people do add to these cars are seat
belts. There is no judge or other in the club that will take a single
point off of a car for the addition of seatbelts even though they were
no on te cars originally.

As far as insurance, ifi it was covered by a collector car insurance,
like hagerty, they probably would step in to make up for what was not
covered by the volvo owner.

While the car may be a 500,000 dollar car, it may not cost nearly that
much to repair it. Looking at the car it is in suprisingly good
condition for a fatal wreck. I bet the total repairs are under
200,000 easily. You just need to find the right people to work on the
repairs. Even just plain bodywork most shops won't touch becasue of
the value of the car and the sheer amount of labor involved.

We had a 37 Cord Custom Beverly get run down by a semi truck, it got
slammed pretty good, and Hagerty didn't blink an eye to write a check
for 27,000 bucks.

That Duesenburg will be repaired, I garantee.

usually the classic car driver that causes the fatalities. We are all too
keen on keeping our cars in the best shape we can, but all it takes is
someone else's stupidity.
