As Paul mentioned, change the fuel filter. Could also be the fuel pump is on
its way out. For years I told people that the "best" performance mod I ever
had done to my '89 was getting a new fuel pump. The old one was only putting
out 25 psi, and it felt like a new car with a new pump!!

Anyway, you may also have a serious airflow restriction. A clogged air
filter is easy enough to check. Could also be a serous restriction I the
exhaust, like clogged cats, or clogged mufflers.

One "easy" thing to try is to disconnect the battery and clear the PCM.
