Sounds like you have automatic Climate Control. Regular cycling of the a/c
is normal in those systems. With the manual a/c system, that's why the a/c
clutch in my '89 lasted for over 9 years of daily driving!! 

You may not have noticed it before when the belt wasn't chirping. Just cinch
down the belt a bit.

It's actually surprising to me that a/c clutches last as long as they do on
climate control cars!!

The AC clutch on the 89 SHO (converted to r134) seems to cause the belts to
chirp on the engine.  It also seems to cycle on and off too frequently.  Is
that a low refrigerant problem or an issue with an R12 sized system running
the less efficient r134?  Or something else :)
