[Shotimes] Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner

For normal, everyday cleaning, I use the Chem-Dry aerosol. Some stores carry
it, but Chem-Dry folks have it. It is low in odor, and most importantly,
does not leave a residue. When we had carpet that needed cleaning in our
homes, we only use the Chem-dry process.

Now, for dirty carpet, I stumbled across another cheap method when I had the
stinky, dirty carpet in the '95. Chem-dry didn't work, baking soda, Zeolite,
nor Don's carpet stuff helped. I ended up with a gallon of denatured alcohol
from Home Depot ($8), a $1 spray bottle, and rags. I sprayed down the
carpet, and rubbed with rags while it was wet. The stuff evaporates totally,
and it cleaned the carpet nicely, as well as getting out much of the odor
(impossible to get it all out....but that's another story!!). And it left no
residue or scent afterward.

I'd like to pull out the seats and do a complete cleaning of the carpet on
my '91 before summer ends. What products have proven useful for others?

Thanks.
