[Shotimes] cylinder test

I have an ATX; how am I supposed to get the engine above 4K rpm when the
rev limiter kicks in at like 3650?

I was under the impression that you do not need to floor the gas pedal
during the test. I recall reading somewhere that it just needs to be
above a
certain rpm. 4000 maybe? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?
