Tacking on to what Don said...  The only comparing to do is your last 
session versus your first --- did you get better?  When I ran at Putnam this 
year it was my first track day in two years.  First session I was rusty, 
braked so much I was pokey in the corners, etc.  By the last session I was 
much smoother and faster.

I don't do enough track days to get anywhere near the level of Kerby, Kegel, 
Porter, those track dawgs.  But in five sessions I can improve a lot, have 
fun, and feel that what I learned was worthwhile.
