BMW CCA used Virginia International Raceway for their Solo II (auto-x) runs
at this year's Oktoberfest but they kept the speeds down by putting cones in
weird places.

My bad, I got it wrong on my first reply and tried to clean the mess up
with the second attempt, and may still have muddied the water. :)

Solo II (two) is the Low speed type of event. Called autocrossing.
Usually on a parking lot, but it CAN be on a road course IF they use
cones to slow the speed to the "speed limit" which I guess is 65 now.

Solo I (One) is higher speeds, usually a road course, but it can be a
more wide open course on a big parking lot. Speeds are basically
unlimited, but they won't let them go too high on a parking lot, the
safety director (I used to be one) has the final say for speeds.

SATCAR is full road course type of event, no speed limit, but passing is
limited to the "safe" zones, which can include a corner if safe enough.

That any better?
