The foam surround on my 92's sub took a crap a few weeks ago.  What's the
approx cost on the above JL unit?  Good vendor?

I think the biggest thing with the factory sub is the head unit/amp section
rolls off the low end frequency curve as you increase volume (probably to
protect the OEM sub).  With a better sub (more durable) and a linear curve,
it would probably sound a bit better (at least at higher volumes).

My stupid head unit has a random short in it, tempting to replace the whole
set-up with aftermarket (I'm too cheap)  :)
